Lindos is situated on the southeast coast, about 54km from Rhodes Town. It was one of Rhodes ancient and most important cities as it offers a fantastic protected bay and a tall cliff where the acropolis was built. In the 14th century the Knights of St. John used the acropolis of LIndos to build a massive fortress to defend the island against the Ottomans. Lindos now has been declared a national land mark, with many of its buildings still intact.
LIndos offers some of the most spectacular diving in Greece. As it is one of the deepest parts of the sea around the island it has a lot to offer ,DiveMed visits various sites around Lindos (6+ dive sites) which include impressive walls that keep dropping to 70m+, caves with large connecting domes and drift diving under the ancient city that still stands above.
